NGFA's 8th Annual Feed Industry Council Conference and Tabletop Show

Newly Added to the Program: Officials of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency were invited to discuss the latest BSE cases detected in Canada.

The NGFA’s 2005 Feed Industry Council Conference and Tabletop Show! An exciting new conference for feed manufacturers, integrators and related businesses.

NEW THIS YEAR! Conducted jointly with the mid-year meeting of the Association of American Feed Control Officials!

This year, the NGFA is teamed up with AAFCO to bring a single, hard-hitting, business-focused conference to feed manufacturers and animal integrators. The joint conference wasmade possible by the strong, professional working relationship between the NGFA and AAFCO.

The NGFA portion of the conference occurred the afternoon of Sat., Jan. 22 and culminated in a festive feed industry reception that evening. AAFCO sessions began on Sun., Jan. 23. The combined conferences and tabletop show drew hundreds of feed industry professionals and regulatory officials

Featured topics and speakers for the NGFA Feed Industry Council included:

  • FDA's BSE Feed Rule, Bioterrorism Initiatives and Feed Safety Priorities for 2005 -- Dr. Dan McChesney, director of FDA's Office of Surveillance and Compliance, Rockville, MD
    1. FDA has published its rule implementing bioterrorism regulations. Hear from the agency’s lead official in this area what will be required of feed manufacturers and animal integrators.
    2. Is the Canadian BSE-prevention rule prologue for what the U.S. industry should expect? Dr. McChesney will discuss Canada’s approach and how it may relate to efforts to prevent BSE in the U.S.
