NGFA Grain & Feed PAC
What is the NGFA Grain & Feed Political Action Committee (PAC)?
The National Grain and Feed Association's (NGFA) Grain & Feed PAC is a voluntary, nonprofit committee that is not affiliated with any political party. While organizations, such as the NGFA, are prohibited from making contributions in connection with federal elections, such organizations are permitted to establish Political Action Committees (PACs) that make contributions and expenditures on behalf of federal candidates.
The NGFA's Grain & Feed PAC is funded by voluntary contributions from individuals. PAC contributions are not tax-deductible for federal income tax purpose. PACs cannot accept contributions from corporations, government contractors or foreign nationals.
The Grain & Feed PAC is governed by a Board of Trustees consisting of NGFA grain and feed industry members, and is regulated by the Federal Election Commission's rules and guidelines for PACs.
Why does NGFA have a PAC?
The purpose of the Grain & Feed PAC is to provide an additional avenue for the voice of the U.S. grain, feed and processing industry to be heard. The Grain & Feed PAC accomplishes this goal by providing financial support to candidates who traditionally have shown support for the industry. In addition, the Grain & Feed PAC has started to reach out to candidates who have shown willingness to listen to and consider our policy views promoting free enterprise, competitive markets and job creation.
