This section of the NGFA/GEAPS Facility Security Web Site contains non-classified U.S. government alerts and advisories that may be issued from time-to-time by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that are specific to grain elevators, feed mills, corn and soybean processing plants, flour mills and grain export facilities. This section also contains the seven most recent "Daily Open Source Infrastructure Security Reports" issued by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which typically inlcude sections on agriculture and transportation. Presidential Homeland Security Directives
This section contains the security directives issued by the President of the United States that have direct relavance to grain, feed and processing facilities. These directives are important in that they have set security-related emphasis areas and priorities of federal government agencies.
Homeland Security Presidential Directive #9
Defense of U.S. Agriculture and Food (Jan. 30, 2004): This directive establishes a national policy to defend the agriculture and food system against terrorist attacks, major disasters and other emergencies (including plant and animal diseases).

Homeland Security Presidential Directive #7
Critical Infrastructure Identification, Prioritization and Protection (Dec. 17, 2003): This directive establishes a national policy for federal departments and agencies to identify and prioritize U.S. critical infrastructure and key resources to be protected from terrorist attacks. Included are the agriculture and transportation sectors.

National Strategy for Physical Protection of Critical Infrastructures and Key Assets - Presidential Document (February 2003; 93 pages; PDF Format):
This document outlines strategic objectives uderpinning the national infrastructure and key-asset protection effort that include: 1) identifying and ensuring the protection of infrastructure and assets deemed most critical; 2) providing timely warning and protection of infrastructures and assets facing specific, imminent threats; and 3) initiatives to ensure the protection of other infrastructures and assets that may become targets in the future.
