Those in the Washington, D.C., area recently have been viewing a new educational an advertisement, which mentions NGFA, on cable television networks (including CNBC). The commercial, which airs only in the D.C. metro area, was paid in part by a $20,000 donation from the National Grain and Feed Foundation to the Waterways Council Inc. (WCI). NGFA Donates $60,000 to National Pork Board for PEDV Research

WASHINGTON (May 12, 2014) - The National Grain and Feed Foundation (NGFF) has contributed $60,000 to the National Pork Board (NPB) to be used to pursue research on the porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) that has infected swine herds in the United States. The virus has infected and killed millions of young pigs on farms of all sizes in 29 states since May 2013, as well as in four Canadian provinces since January 2014.  Importantly, the virus does not affect humans or the safety of consumable pork products. Lacy Holleman
Manager of Legal Affairs and Arbitration

lholleman@ngfa.org

Lacy provides staff support for one of NGFA’s premier member services – its more than century old system of industry trade rules and arbitration that facilitates the efficient marketing of grains, oilseeds and their derived products. She also works on contracting, legal and other related matters.

An Arkansas native, Lacy received her undergraduate degree with a double major in history and Russian studies from the University of Tulsa (Okla.) and her law degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. Prior to joining NGFA’s staff in November 2020, she managed a local business at the Pentagon and completed mediation training required by the North Carolina Supreme Court for those seeking to serve as mediators for settlement conferences and other settlement procedures in North Carolina Superior Court civil actions. She also has worked as an assistant for a law firm in her native state.
