WASHINGTON, Jan. 29, 2016 – We are at once delighted and saddened to announce that Jackie Congress, a member of NGFA’s staff for nearly 27½ years, is retiring effective Jan. 29. She is the voice NGFA members, government officials and others heard when calling the NGFA’s office in her role as our principal telephone receptionist, and was responsible for the operation of the Association’s mailroom and supply ordering.
“Jackie has been an important cog in the NGFA’s operations and a consistently dedicated and conscientious part of our team during her career at the Association,” said NGFA President Randy Gordon. “We will miss her pleasant, joyful personality and wish her all the best in her retirement.”
Among her many duties at NGFA, Jackie processed and distributed incoming correspondence. She mailed the NGFA Newsletter – including during the pre-email era when that involved mailing nearly 3,000 every week – as well as other publications and audio-visual materials, committee correspondence and other documents. She also filled publication and audio/visual orders, and served as the NGFA’s principal telephone receptionist. Prior to joining the NGFA’s staff in 1988, she worked as a stenographer for a reporting service and for an insurance company in records processing and mail operations.
Best wishes and Godspeed, Jackie!
