The immediate past President and CEO of the Port of New Orleans, Gary LaGrange, will be among the featured speakers during the NGFA’s 121st Annual Convention in New Orleans next month.
LaGrange, who now will be heading another group of ports in the Baton Rouge, La., region, is a 40-year veteran of the maritime industry and served as president and CEO of the Port of New Orleans since 2001 until Jan. 1 of this year. During his tenure, the port invested more than $500 million in infrastructure, including new container, intermodal, cruise and refrigerated terminals.
Patrick Ottensmeyer, president and CEO of the Kansas City Southern Railway, will join LaGrange at the convention’s two-hour Transportation Open Forum on Sunday, March 19. In addition to presenting a brief update on Kansas City Southern, Ottensmeyer – who serves as chairman of the Strategic Trade Initiatives Working Group for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-Mexico CEO Dialogue – will discuss the importance and future of North American trade under the Trump administration. One other major speaker also is in the process of being confirmed for this session.
