At the NGFA’s 123rd annual convention in Amelia Island, Fla., membership recruiters were recognized on March 19 for sponsoring 61 new member firms since the 2018 convention.
Major prize-winners were:
Ceres Award – Grain Craft, Chattanooga, Tenn.
The member company compiling the most total membership recruiting points over the year is awarded the solid bronze statue of Ceres, Goddess of the Harvest. Ceres will reside in the Chattanooga offices of Grain Craft for the coming year due to the membership recruiting prowess of Alan Koenig, Chief Supply Chain Officer, who sponsored two new NGFA-member companies. Koenig serves on the NGFA Board of Directors and Executive Committee, as well as the Rail Shipper/Receiver Committee.
Nootbaar Prize – Jim Stitzlein, CGB Enterprises, Chesterfield, Mo.
Endowed by former NGFA President Herb Nootbaar, the prize is awarded annually through a random drawing for which all membership sponsors over the previous year are eligible. Stitzlein took home a $1,000 cash prize!
Grain Service Corp. Prizes – Dave Helfrich, Irsik & Doll Feed Services Inc., Cimmaron, Kan.; Scott Nagel, Archer Daniels Midland Co., Minneapolis, Minn.; and Bemnet Tesfamicael, CN Rail, Edmonton, AB.
Three prizes are awarded, also through random drawings, for cash prizes sponsored by Grain Service Corp., Atlanta, Ga. These three successful membership sponsors receive $750, $500, and $250, respectively.
A new membership recruiting year that will culminate at the March 2020 convention in Austin, Texas has begun. Thanks to all membership recruiters for contributing to the growth and future success of the NGFA!
