ARLINGTON, Va., May 15, 2025 – The National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) praised the House Committee on Agriculture for its diligent work in drafting the 2025 Farm Bill framework and expressed appreciation for the leadership of Chairman Glenn “GT” Thompson.
“The NGFA commends Chairman Thompson and the House Agriculture Committee for their thoughtful and determined effort to advance a new Farm Bill,” said NGFA President and CEO Mike Seyfert. “Chairman Thompson’s commitment to stakeholder engagement and practical solutions has been essential in developing a strong foundation for this legislation.”
The NGFA noted that its top priorities in this farm bill include a focus on working lands over land-idling conservation programs, preserving a market-oriented and decoupled safety net, and maintaining a strong crop insurance program. In addition, NGFA supports enhanced funding for trade promotion programs that are increasingly critical to U.S. agriculture.
“The proposal put forward by Chairman Thompson checks all these boxes, and we commend him for his work to continue moving a Farm Bill forward,” Seyfert continued. “We look forward to working with members of both parties and chambers as the legislative process continues. We must deliver a final bill that strengthens the U.S. agricultural supply chain and ensures certainty for American agriculture.”
