Annual Convention

Annual Convention

OVERVIEW

NGFA’s Annual Convention features top policy makers, substantive open forums and outstanding general sessions that explore the most important issues facing the industry in the year ahead. Annual association business is also taken care of at Convention; the event begins with a day of open committee meetings and association business is conducted throughout the meeting.Convention also provides an ideal opportunity to network with fellow industry leaders and spend time with your family and NGFA friends; each year several tours are planned, the National Grain and Feed Foundation Golf Tournament is held, and we close the event with our spectacular Gala Banquet Reception. For more information on convention programming, see presentations from past conventions.

You’ll enjoy some of the loveliest ocean views in southern California, and experience close encounters with pelicans, cormorants, rocky inter-tidal life, and harbor seals-usually sunning on the beach. Next, take some time to enjoy the fabulous shopping experience La Jolla has to offer. “The Jewel” is an apt nickname for this charming village. From high-end art galleries to charming boutiques, you’ll be tempted by countless opportunities to bring a piece of La Jolla home with you!$45/person | 65 person max Tuesday March 15, 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.Sail on the Adventuress on San Diego Bay The Adventuress is a gorgeous 60’ luxury sailing catamaran, which is Coast Guard certified to carry up to 48 guests, and available exclusively for private charter. This custom tour taps into San Diego’s rich history and its bustling beer scene. Your journey will begin through some of San Diego’s most culturally significant neighborhoods such as the Gaslamp District and Little Italy. Along the way, you’ll get a taste (literally) of what San Diego is increasingly becoming known for – its craft beer! Over the last several years, San Diego has exploded onto the local brewing map and is now known as the beer capital of the world. In the Gaslamp District, you’ll sample beers from Stone Tap Room and Mission Brewery, both located just next to Petco Park, and in Little Italy you will stop by Ballast Point Tasting Room. This tour is a great way to see downtown San Diego as well as relax while you sip on some of the city’s very own beers. Cheers!$105/person | 45 person max

NGFF Golf Tournament

The 27-hole championship Steele Canyon Golf Club was personally designed by Gary Player with respect and appreciation for the natural beauty of the terrain. Each of the three nines offers a distinct environment and type of play for all levels of golfers. The rugged Canyon Course’s dramatic shot making challenges and breathtaking elevations are balanced by the Ranch Course’s winding fairways through the fields of a working ranch, and the Meadow course’s beautiful woodlands and streams stretching along the valley floor. As one of Southern California’s finest golf clubs, Steele Canyon has been awarded Golf Digest’s Four Star Rating, one of only three golf clubs so honored in San Diego County.Golf Club Rentals:  https://www.nationalgolfeventmanagement.com/r/clubs/NGFF2016
