ARLINGTON, Va., September 16, 2026 — The National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) today applauded the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry for advancing the Agricultural Act of 2026 following committee markup, calling the committee’s action another important step toward enacting a long-term farm bill that provides the certainty America’s farmers and agribusinesses need.

NGFA commended Chairman John Boozman (R-Ark.) and committee members for advancing the legislation and urged the Senate to swiftly consider the bill on the floor.

The committee-approved legislation includes several priorities that NGFA has consistently advocated throughout the farm bill process. Among them is reauthorizing the U.S. Grain Standards Act, providing long-term certainty for the federal grain inspection and weighing system that facilitates efficient grain marketing and reinforces confidence in U.S. grain exports.

The legislation also includes the Innovative FEED (IFEED) Act, which would modernize the regulatory framework for animal feed ingredients by establishing a more efficient pathway for the review and approval of innovative feed products while maintaining rigorous safety standards.

NGFA also welcomed the bill’s maintenance of the current Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) acreage cap, and continued support for export market development initiatives such as the Market Access Program (MAP) and Foreign Market Development (FMD) Program. Together, these provisions help balance conservation goals, expand export opportunities, and support additional domestic demand for U.S. agricultural commodities.

With both the House and Senate Agriculture Committees having advanced long-term farm bills, NGFA urges the full Senate to act promptly so Congress can deliver a final bill to President Trump for his signature. Enactment of a comprehensive, long-term farm bill will provide the policy certainty needed to strengthen the entire agricultural value chain and ensure U.S. agriculture remains competitive at home and abroad.
