NGFA applauds trade agreements expanding market access in Southeast Asia

ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 26, 2025 – The National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) today thanked President Donald J. Trump and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer for advancing new trade frameworks that expand U.S. agricultural opportunities in Southeast Asia.

“Today’s agreements with Malaysia and Cambodia, along with new trade frameworks with Thailand and Vietnam, demonstrate the importance of strong, reciprocal relationships with key partners in a fast-growing region,” said NGFA President and CEO Mike Seyfert. “These efforts help strengthen the competitiveness of U.S. grain, feed, and processed products abroad while reinforcing America’s reputation as a reliable supplier, and we are particularly pleased to see strong efforts to reduce non-tariff barriers to trade that unfairly block U.S. agricultural exports. We applaud USTR and the administration for continuing to prioritize open, rules-based trade that benefits U.S. agriculture and its global customers.”

The NGFA supports comprehensive, market-opening agreements that remove unfair barriers to trade that also foster growth and predictability for agricultural exporters, feed manufacturers, and agribusinesses that depend on global supply chains.
