NGFA praises nomination of Gregory Ibach as USDA trade undersecretary

ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 29, 2026 — The National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) today praised President Donald Trump’s nomination of Gregory Ibach to serve as Under Secretary of Agriculture for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

“NGFA congratulates Greg Ibach on his nomination to this important role,” said NGFA President and CEO Mike Seyfert. “Mr. Ibach brings extensive agricultural experience, a producer’s perspective and a strong understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing U.S. agriculture. His experience promoting U.S. agricultural products and developing international markets will serve American agriculture well. We look forward to working with him to expand market access, strengthen U.S. agricultural exports and enhance the competitiveness of American agriculture around the world.”

Ibach is a fifth-generation Nebraska farmer and rancher who previously served as USDA Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs during the first Trump administration. Before joining USDA, he served for nearly 13 years as director of the Nebraska Department of Agriculture, where he worked to expand agricultural export opportunities and organized trade missions to markets in Asia, Europe, Africa and South America. Ibach is a 1984 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with majors in animal science and agricultural economics.

NGFA encourages the Senate to move promptly to consider his nomination.
